Mandate and Objectives of the TNAC

Mission/mandate

The primary object of this non-profit, charitable organization is to serve as an advocate for Trigeminal Neuralgia and other facial pain patients by providing support, information and encouraging research.

Specific objectives

1. To provide information, and to support and encourage those who are afflicted with TN and other facial pain and their families, by assisting in development of support groups and personal contacts.
2. To encourage sound research on the causes of TN and other facial pain and the results of current treatments; to disseminate this information widely among the medical and dental professions and to the interested public.
3. To urge the continuing search for new medications and treatment for TN and other facial pain.
4. To advocate the development of effective pain management techniques among professional health care providers for those with on-going discomfort from TN and other facial pain.
5. To advocate for public policy which is supportive of the needs for those with TN and facial pain.
6. Develop and sustain a support group for TN and other facial pain patients.
7. To provide a meeting space to undertake the objects of the society.
8. Provide a resource Centre.
9. To educate Medical and Dental professionals and interested members of the general Public.
